The Story

Taking care of people at the expense of one’s own health is a tale as old as time. But the pandemic was a teacher of sorts: that it’s necessary to heal and nurture what’s within, to heal and care for all that exists outside of it. Nurture by Nature is a translation of that duality, using flower, vine and root imagery to represent inner healing and growth. The design revolves around nurture, empathy, and care and is made to look soft, gentle and fresh. Spending so much time on my own during the pandemic meant having to not only face but also talk to and resolve issues with my demons. So, I turned to my plants; I tended to them every day, looked up the best ways to care for them and talked to them. And yet there was more love and care left over. That’s when I realized the only person I wasn’t caring for was myself. I formed this newfound love for being the giving, empathetic mother figure. It was something I learned from my mother and she hers. It was a powerful generational gift that I could carry on, but I had to start with myself. It was a new identity I could carry with pride because I now knew how to love myself and others. The idea is to show how you can give yourself love while also pouring it over to another person, and how both of these acts are equal in their own right.
